Trunks regresa al futuro y al llegar ahí encuentra a su madre, Bulma, y le cuenta que Vegeta no es un ser perverso como todos lo piensan. Esto por que cuando Cell mata a Trunks, Vegeta se pone furioso. Más tarde, en el futuro, Trunks escucha las noticias para saber en donde están los androides, y destruirlos con sus poderes. La máquina del tiempo esta recargada para hacer un viaje más al pasado y Trunks quiere avisar a Gokū y a los demás que ya destruyó a Nº17 y 18; mientras Trunks habla con Bulma, Cell, en estado imperfecto, trata de ocultarse. Trunks lo descubre y Cell sale para que lo vea, entonces Trunks recuerda que Cell contó cómo lo mataba e iba al pasado para poder buscar a los androides, absorberlos y así convertirse en un ser perfecto. Trunks lo desafía a una batalla y lo mata. Sin querer Gokū tira abajo la casa que terminó de construir Kaio-sama.
