Ed se enfrenta a a Darius y Heinkiel, que en realidad son quimeras Ed encuentra dinamitas y usa el nitrato de amonio para paralizarlos con el olor. Ed se encuentra con Kimblee y logra hacer que este pierda la Piedra Filosofal y luego le hiere la palma de su mano pero Kimblee tenía otra piedra escondida en su boca y genera una gran explosión. Ed es atravesado por una viga, arrastrándose sangrando por el suelo y usa la alquimia para liberar a las quimeras que estaban atrapadas entre los escombros y, en agradecimiento por salvar sus vidas, le extraen el metal y luego se lo llevan cargado en su espalda.
