Hanagata, ahora el vecino molesto de Otaru, finalmente ha decidido declarar su amor por Otaru, pero justo cuando intenta hacerlo, los coleccionistas de marionetas secuestran a Lime, dejando a Otaru devastado y sin ganas de escuchar la declaración de Hanagata. Despreciado, Hanagata le dice malhumorado a Otaru que sus sentimientos por las marionetas no son naturales. Pero Otaru ignora la burla, salva a Lime e insiste en cuidar cada marioneta como si fueran humanos.
